This recipe is as simple as it is delicious. It comes together quickly and easily the night before, and is ready to go on those busy weekday mornings or lazy weekends. It’s packed with the superfoods chia and raw cacao, as well as oats, a great source of beta-glucan, which has been shown to reduce LDL-cholesterol (1). This oatmeal jar is a perfect, comforting way to start any day.



1 cup rolled oats

2 tsp chia seeds

1 cup unsweetened soy milk

1 tbsp raw cacao powder

1 tbsp maple syrup

1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut

1 tbsp sliced almonds

1 tbsp (1/2 oz) dark chocolate, grated to small flakes


  1. Layer ingredients in order listed in a small mason jar.
  2. Leave in refrigerator overnight.
  3. The next day, stir until all ingredients are well incorporated. Can be eaten cold or warmed up in the microwave or a small pan.
